Wizard of Oz Twinchies & Inchies

Good Morning Everyone,

I have been having a Twinchie, INchie, and ATC making Extravaganza recently it has been so much fun, I absolutely love them they are great to do and really boost my crafty mojo, so if you are struggling with your mojo a the minute grab a Twinchie.

These are some I made for a Book Character Twinchie & Inchie swap on UKS, so of course I had to choose Wizard of OZ so I could use the Bee Crafty Wizard of Oz stamps (they are based on the original book illustrations so were perfect for this). I had to make 10 inchies and 10 Twinchies in all honesty this was my first swap so I was going to make them all the same, but as soon as I started it was only time that stopped me making them all different so I did 2 of each design.

This is them all
(the white heart is glue that dried to a clear gloss finish  and I had forgotten to do Dorothy's shoes but they are red now :) )

I'm really looking forward to seeing what I get back and I'll be sure to show you when I do :)

Inchies Card

Hi Everyone

Have a look at this Card using inchies

This was sooooooo much fun to make, I used Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade & Salty Ocean Tim Holtz Distress Inkpads to colour my Chipsters Inchies.

Once they were dry I then stamped using Tim Holtz Black Soot all different designs from the BEAUtanicals ranges.

I then highlighted them using a really fine paintbrush and the Zig Opaque White Ink.

I arranged them on the card and stuck them down using white glue and layered up using
co-ordinating card stock.

It was brilliant fun to make and it would be so easy to change for different colours and adjust to suit the recipient and I just love it.

Citrus Leaves

Hi Everyone,

I made this for a Tag challenge, I hope you like it, I am really pleased with it.

I usually start my projects with at the very lease a vague idea of where I am going but this just evolved as I carried on until I got to the finished result

I started off with a Ranger No10 Black Tag, which I spritzed with white Dylusions, after that had dried I then blotted some Zig White Ink through the Offset Dots Inkables in small sections and again left it to dry.
After that I placed the offset dots Inkables mask right across the middle of the tag and spritz again with white linen Dylusions.
Whilst it was drying I stamped the Maple Outline stamps onto some citrus green card using black soot distress ink and then cut them out. I rolled them in my hand with an embossing tool to give them shape, highlighted with the zig white opaque ink and left to dry.
I spritzed 3 Chipsters rinchies with Lime Dylusions left to dry (you could use a heat gun) went round the edge with the Black Soot direct from the pad.
I stamped on them using the small maple outline and again highlighted with the zig white ink.
I stamped the Decision to Try (Lg) onto white card and cut out the individual words before my assembly.
I layered the tag onto lime card and then black before sticking on all the elements.

I really love the zing of the citrus green against the black and although I was tempted initially to go pink I'm really glad I went the other way :)

Twinchies

In case you haven't already seen, I, with the help of 2 lovely ladies, Zoe Russell & Pauline Butcher, have begun a NEW Twinchies Challenge Blog

and this is a monthly challenge blog with a NEW challenge starting today with a new theme

Bee's & Butterflies

and this what I have come up with so far

This one is a bit dark, but I really love it, it's a Chipsters Twinchie, covered in Black Marble Dylusions which I just left to dry as with the Chipsters being white board if you roll it with kitchen roll, you get grey not black (voice of experience there :) )

Then using the Zig White Ink I lightly painted the Bark Positive Backdrop Stamp and then stamped onto the twinchie, and then using a coffee stirrer, put some of the white ink on it then rubbed across the edge of the twinchie, then a good blob of hot glue to secure my silver bee and watch.

This is Lemon Zest & Melted Chocolate Dylusions on a Chipsters Twinchie, I have then gone round the edge with Tim Holtz Distress Inks Vintage Photo direct from the pad and then stamped one of the BEAUtanicals Ferns with Vintage Photo and Ghost stamped too (stamping for a second and third time without re-inking your stamp)

This one Im a bit sad didn't photograph better as it is quite cool, it is Crushed Grape, Lemon Zest and London Blue Dylusions spritzed on a Chipster and rolled with kitchen roll, I then added on dots with Zig White Ink and drew a butterfly body the wings are made from stamping onto blank card the BEAUtanicals leaves and then coloured with postbox red and crushed grape dylusions that I have pipetted into waterbrushes, doodled on, rolled and then stuck on. I promise it is quite funky in real life.

Why I'd like to be a pirate

Hi Everyone,

This was my first proper page using my dylusions hence why I used nearly every colour :). It was so much fun though , after I opened up the pages I noticed a blotchy patch that hadn't taken the ink and all I could see was a skull and cross bones, so the first thing I did was outline that with an inkssentials white pen.

But listen to me I'm getting ahead of myself, I used so much on the background nearly all of the dylusions and then did a lot of spraying and ghosting using the inkables templates, the ones you can probably see best are the arrows in the top right hand corner and, the off set dots on the left handside and the harlequin around the edge.

Anywho after I'd outlined the skull and crossbones the title just came of it's own accord so now I had to come up with my reasons.

The writing was done with a white inkssentials and reads as this

"No-one will tell you where to go and when to come back, you are completely free bound by nothing and although arguably one of the most materialistic races on earth all you need is the clothes on your back and a loot sack, and lets face it, that's good
Also you get to carry a sword, I'd love a sword, not really sure what it would be useful for, but if I was a pirate no one would ask why I needed one they would say "Oh she's a pirate" and that would be it.
Also I could be 'swashbuckling' I've never really given much thought to the word, but lets face it even without meaning, it's a pretty good adjective and one that I'd like to be used to describe ,me. What else is there, , , , ooh maybe an eyepatch, eyepatches are cool, I bet if Doctor Who was a pirate he'd make sure he had an eyepatch, plus you have the added bonus of the badass look of the eyepatch, and I've always thought of myself as a badass, okay in reality I'm not at all, in fact I spend most of my time afraid f what might go wrong, but you see if I was a pirate I wouldn't worry like that at all.
Of course I'm forgetting the treasure, I would love me some treasure, wouldn't have to be big stuff, in fact knowing me I'd probably just want the treasure chest, let's face it, it's pretty and gotta be useful.
Oooh yeah, and you have a flag, I'd love a flag and a crew, aaarrrgggggggghhhh a crew that'd do my bidding(not a mutinous one though but I'm not sure you get to pick)
The only problem I can see for me in becoming a pirate is quite a big one actually.
I get seasick :)"

Hope you liked it

Betwinchie Maple Card

Evening All,

Okay so the resurrection of my blog didn't quite go to plan, however better late than never and today I have been creating, after leaving it so long I will not flood it with everything I have made over the last little while and will mix it up with recent and further back makes, but I will just do one at a time and today I have been playing with the NEW Beautanicals and Betwinchies.

You may have heard of Twinchies but there are also inchies, betwinchies and rinchies available which are not only great for doing miniature art you can also decorate them and put them on other projects like this card.

This was made using Betwinchies, that I sprayed using Postbox Red and Lemon Zest Dylusions. I then stamped the gorgeous Maple Outlines using Black Soot Distress Ink and highlighting with a white inkssentials pen. I also added a few dots just for fun.

I took a 6 inch card and using my scoring board scored a double line on all four sides of the card, making sure that I was leaving enough room for my betwinchies. This is a 6 inch card so I did a line exactly 1" in from the edge and did another line outside that one, which gave me a 4" square in the middle to display my betwinchies.

Have a go they are great fun and look great

Art Journal Page: Dots

Hi All,

Inspired by my mum's resurrection of her blog I thought I'd do mine too, it will hopefully encourage me to make at least one thing per week and anymore is a bonus. I tend to get very caught up in designing new ranges and I forget to actually sit down and enjoy some crafting which at the end of the day it what it's all supposed to be about.

So today I have been getting inky with my journal

I have created the background using Dusty Concord and Worn Lipstick Distress Stains by Tim Holtz, I have used a water spritzer and the Bee Crafty Inkables to make the dots and damask, but the damask didn't bleach out very well, so although I only highlighted a few dots with a white pen I outlined most of the damask and doodle filled some of it in.

I added some fauzx stitching around the edge just because I love doing it and I think it looks noce to give it and edge :)

The quote is from Steve Jobs and says
“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.

This approach has worked well for me in the past and has made the difference in my life.”
